History: The Craigsville Public Library opened its doors in 1976. The West Virginia Library Commission spearheaded the project with local businesses and individuals providing additional funding for construction and the land purchase. The library's first addition opened in 1980, and a second followed in 1994. The library serves nearly 9,000 residents in Nicholas County.
